This is the short version of our Cancellation, Refund & Change-of-Venue Policy. Our two-hour and after-school workshops need a minimum of 6 children to run (maximum 8). If a session does not reach the minimum, we will offer a full refund or a rebooking. Beach School is coming soon.
How to book
- Book and pay online through our booking calendar. Places are limited, so all sessions are paid for in advance.
- Complete the booking form for each child: your contact details, a second contact, allergies, medical and SEND needs, and photo and first-aid permissions. For extra children in a private group or paired/group tutoring session, use our online registration form.
- You will receive a confirmation email straight away and a reminder the day before.
- Tutoring and private group sessions can also be booked and paid for online in the booking calendar. For Saturdays, visits and anything else, use our booking enquiry page, email andy@stembythesea.co.uk or call/text 07512201047.

Notice is counted from when your email or text reaches us to the start time of the session. Credit and rebookings must be used within 8 weeks. You can also send someone else in your place, just tell us first.
Beach School and the weather
- We decide by 5pm the day before where we can, but the East Yorkshire coast changes quickly, so we may change or cancel on the day.
- If we do, you can choose: a D&T session in our workshop at the same time, rebooking within 8 weeks, or a refund if neither is possible.
- Safety comes first, and the final decision is always Andy’s.
- An adult stays with every child on the beach. Wear sturdy shoes, warm and waterproof layers, and bring spare clothes, a drink and sun cream in summer.
Before you come
- Children under 8: a parent or guardian stays for the whole session.
- Children aged 8 and over can be dropped off and collected at the set times from the agreed location, if you have given written permission on the booking form.
- Please use the toilet before you arrive. There is no toilet in the workshop; a house toilet is available, and parents take under-8s.
- Tell us about any allergies, medical needs or SEND needs when you book. Children who are unwell should stay at home; we will offer a rebooking or credit.
Tutoring
- Tutoring sessions are not refunded, but can be rearranged for a valid reason (illness, appointments, family emergencies, school commitments). Please tell us as early as you can.
- Sessions missed without a valid reason are charged.
